We are excited to welcome all participants to the first workshop of the RESCUER MSCA Doctoral Network!
Below, you’ll find all the essential information about the event to help you prepare and make the most of this experience.

Special Dinners
- Welcome Dinner: December 2nd, 2024 at 6:15pm at FLØIRESTAURANTEN
Important: We will meet at 5:15 PM in the lobby of the Grand Terminus Hotel to walk to the Fløibanen funicular, which will take us to the top of Fløyen mountain, where the restaurant is located.
- Farewell Dinner (scheduled for the evening before the last day of the workshop): December 5th, 2024 Grand Terminus Hotel


*Both dinners are included as part of the event.

- What to Bring: Laptop, chargers, and any required software pre-installed.

Lecturers
• Prof. Volker Roeber (UPPA) – Free surface wave modeling
Topics: Mathematical background, modeling considerations, and numerical
techniques applied to nearshore wave models. A review of state-of-the-art shallow-
water, Boussinesq, and spectral models, with applications and exercises
• Prof. Magnus Svärd (UiB) – Numerical theory for evolution equations
Topics: Stability, consistency, and convergence for various numerical methods.
• Prof. Henrik Kalisch (UiB) – Mathematical theory of wave models
Topics: Existence, uniqueness, and stability.
